Your private acoustic atlas

Remember places by how they sounded.

Photos keep the image. EchoAtlas keeps the atmosphere—the rain, the station, the sea, the ordinary sounds that one day become unforgettable.

The idea

“A place is more than what it looked like.”

EchoAtlas turns short sounds into memories you can return to. Each recording becomes an Echo. Together, they form your personal Atlas.

Capture → Place → Rediscover

One tap now.
A doorway back later.

EchoAtlas is designed to stay out of the moment. Record quickly, add only the details you want, then let your Atlas remember the rest.

01

Capture an Echo

Record the world around you in mono, stereo, or supported Spatial Audio. Pause, preview, and save when it feels right.

02

Give it a place

Keep the time automatically. Add an optional location, note, tags, photo, favorite, or Journey—never a form you have to complete.

03

Find it years later

Explore your Atlas, search the Library, browse nearby Echoes, or let Surprise Me surface a moment you had almost forgotten.

Built for the sound of real life

Everything a memory needs.
Nothing it doesn’t.

Atlas

Your memories, placed in the world.

See every located Echo on one personal map. Tap a place, listen instantly, and open the full memory when you want more.

Recording

Choose how you listen back.

Mono, stereo, or supported Spatial Audio. Compact AAC through Apple Lossless. Your recording settings are yours.

Library

Every Echo stays close.

Search titles, notes, places, and tags. Filter favorites or nearby memories. Sort them your way.

Your context

Enough detail to bring it back.

Add a note, tags, one photo, a favorite, and a location—or leave them all empty. The sound remains the memory.

Honest playback

The waveform comes from your sound.

EchoAtlas calculates real waveforms from the original audio file and plays that same local recording back to you.

Journeys

Hear a whole route, one moment at a time.

Start a Journey before a walk, drive, or trip. EchoAtlas records the route while it is active and automatically places every new Echo along the way.

  • ✓ Live route, duration, and distance
  • ✓ Echoes attached automatically
  • ✓ A chronological Journey timeline
  • ✓ Sequential playback across the route

Tracking runs only while a Journey you started is active.

Questions

The useful details.

What is an Echo?

An Echo is one sound memory: an original audio recording plus its date and any optional place, note, tags, photo, favorite, or Journey association you add.

Does EchoAtlas need an internet connection?

Core recording, saving, browsing, search, and playback are local. Apple Maps and Apple place-name services may use the network for map content and reverse geocoding.

Does EchoAtlas always track my location?

No. Ordinary location requests are optional and one-time. Continuous route tracking runs only for a Journey you explicitly start and stops when you end it.

Can I use EchoAtlas without location?

Yes. You can record, save, organize, and play Echoes without attaching a location. Atlas and Nearby features simply have less information to show.

Which recording formats are supported?

Mono and stereo recordings can use Compact AAC, Balanced AAC, High Quality AAC, or Apple Lossless. Spatial Audio uses Apple’s required QuickTime format on supported iPhones.

Can I export my recordings?

Yes. EchoAtlas shares the original local audio together with readable JSON metadata when you explicitly choose to export an Echo.
